                                             What is Anzac

Anzac is a group of NZ and Aussies soldiers that fought in the war of Anzac on the 25th of April 1915. Over 11,000 soldiers died in the war and almost 17,260 men were wounded.

Did you know that the soldiers fought in a field of poppies in Gallipoli Peninsula. That is why the symbol of Anzac is a poppy . also Anzac cookies were given to the Anzac soldiers from the wife's because they didn't have much resources.

  1. Hi Leo,
There are some really interesting facts about the Anzacs and why we commemorate Anzac Day. I can't believe the number of soldiers who went off to World War 1, and Gallipoli and didn't return because they were killed in action. It's very sad. Since that time NZ has had a special connection with Australia because of the bond we formed while fighting together for our countries. Do you like Anzac biscuits? Maybe you could try baking some at home for the weekend.
